About Me

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

New Year, New...

Our Basement is going to be fixed in a few weeks, and one of the things that has to go, is the front porch. I decided to get a head start on the work and have already discovered fun things!

An old Dairy Jug, I haven't excavated further, so I don't know yet any more details.

The Elders and Larry (not pictured) came to help move the rock and plants from the front of the house. The basement has to be excavated to straighten the wall and then refilled, so all the rock had to be removed.

Jeremy was trying an experiment - If growing facial hair would keep his face warmer in the winter. The verdict - Yes! But with Branch Conference and an important meeting with Elder L. Tom Perry coming up, he thought it might be a good idea to put on a freash new look for the new year! One handsome dude!
