About Me

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Snow = Christmas!

We have had what is called by my mother the "arctic express" here in Nebraska. We have had about 5 inches of snow - no big deal right! However, we have had 30 mile per hour wind and -30 to -40 degree wind chills. So the snow doesn't just fall, it blows! So here are some pictures of the snow!This is a plow that is plowing the grass on the side of the road. If they don't the wind will blow it back on the road. It does anyway!This is the ditch in front of our house. It is about 6 feet deep in the middle. As you can see, it is full of snow in only some parts.

Here is a quick sample of the fun I am having with my photoshop! HE HE HE HE!I am just starting out... I need to practice!

Love the Christmas tree! When my husband and I lived in Wyoming (Hanna to be exact), we too would find a tree and chop it...and hope we didnt get stuck in the deep snow or get blown off the road by the vicious wind. Those were fun times and I often wonder what the heck I am doing here in the big city with an artificial Christmas tree--because the only live ones here are mesquites and odd shaped cedars.
