About Me

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Obedience Chart

Ok, so as a mom of a toddler, well more then one really, life can just get overwhelmingly irritating at times! Admit it, you think so too... Then a brilliant thing happens. You get inspired by another mom that has many of the same issues as you. My inspiration came this month from my friend Bethany. She posted this on her blog and I am STEALING her idea. It can be implemented so many different ways, in a classroom, in a sacrament meeting, at home... the possibilities are endless. So here's to you Bethany - you are a genius!

Here's how it works. Each day, or whenever you decided, that your child or children are obediant the first time, they get an "X" on the day. If that "X" falls on a smiley face day, they earn something extra. Whatever you decide that extra to be. Brilliant!
